The Lincoln College Pre-nursing Program has two goals. First, it includes all necessary courses for students to complete an Associate Degree that will allow them to transfer to a baccalaureate program of their choice. Second, and more specifically, the program supports students in building academic skills, identifying target nursing schools to which they wish to apply for a Baccalaureate in Nursing Degree Program, and successfully completing prerequisite courses so they can enter their target school as a Junior.
Associate of Art or Associate of Science
Depending on their target transfer school(s), students may choose from an Associate of Arts in Pre-Nursing or an Associate of Science in Pre-Nursing degree from LC; the degree choice will depend on mathematics requirements, which vary from one nursing school to another. In either case, the student will complete all General Education Core requirements for the baccalaureate degree. Courses such as Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Nutrition are geared for students entering the health care professions.
